A new trailer for Marvel’s upcoming Netflix series Jessica Jones has been released. It sets itself apart from its predecessors by being the first to feature the main villain, the Purple Man (David Tennant). Besides being beautifully menacing, the trailer also hints that the show will be as dark as if not darker in tone than Daredevil. Hopefully the show follows the path as the source material, Brian Michael Bendis’ Alias, is darker in tone than the majority of the Marvel Universe and is published under Marvel’s R-rated MAX imprint.
The series, the second of Marvel’s collaborations with Netflix, will star Krysten Ritter as Jessica Jones, former superhero turned detective. In addition to introducing Jessica Jones and Purple Man, it will also feature the introduction of the next Marvel/Netflix series’ main character Luke Cuge (Mike Colter) as well as Trish Walker (Rachael Taylor). Other cast members include Carrie-Anne Moss, Eka Darville, Erin Moriaty and Will Traval.
