Top Gear lovers rejoice! (or don’t!) The BBC has announced the next host to replace Jeremy Clarkson on the popular British motoring show. It is radio host Chris Evans, (not Captain America) a well known media figure throughout Britain and professed gear-head who has appeared on the program before.
It’s unsurprising that there were those who were less than impressed with the choice but BBC Two Controller Kim Shillinglaw back her choice by saying: “His (Evans) knowledge of and passion for cars are well-known and combined with his sheer inventiveness and cheeky unpredictability, he is the perfect choice to take our much-loved show into the future.”
It also doesn’t appear that co-hosts James May & Richard Hammond will be joining Evans on the show. A report released a couple weeks ago says the 2 rejected a deal from the BBC and are in search of a venue that will accommodate both them and Clarkson. Will you be watching this new Top Gear or will you follow the original trio wherever they go next?
